My son is in a private school, but I will be homeschooling him next school year. He is currently in the second grade and due to a couple of things that have happened in the past week, I realized that he has absolutely no computer skills beyond what I have taught him at home. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding a curriculum I could use that would help us get his skills more up to par? I set up an email account for him and gave the emails address to my parents so they can start corresponding with him & he can gain some writing skills too. Plus some added typing practice.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/ All three of my children used this to learn typing. My oldest types as fast and as well as I do now. My son prefers typing over writing, and is fairly good at it. My youngest is still learning, but coming along very well.
Krista, Thank you for that link. I just did a typing lesson to try it out. How fun!! I'm going to have my kids start this too!
He started working on them this afternoon and he loves them! He went on to lesson 3 all by himself and would have kept going but the laptop battery died. We will keep going on it tomorrow since he is out of school. I am SOOO looking forward to homeschooling him next year.
