Yikes. I guess if it works for them but my girls wore a dress code at their previous Dept of Defense school and absolutely do not miss it. And honestly, I don't miss having two different sets of clothes (those for school and those for later).

Generally, I like the kids to get on clothes for school but we've also been known to wear our PJs....but I try to get them out of them at lunch break. My oldest does fine wearing jammies all day but the younger 2 seem to focus better in clothes.

I do insist that the kids come down to breakfast dressed, beds made, and ready to go (though I usually need to remind Faythe to brush her hair and put on deodorant ). Friday is Pajama Day, so that keeps it kind of special. We "travel" two days a week in the morning, and I need to get started with giving them assignments. Having them already dressed really helps with that!

No uniform here either. Just "play/chore" clothes if we stay home, and casual "errand" clothes if we go out or have co-op/piano lessons/4-H......

I like buying them clothes when they actually need them or on sale, not just because school is starting and they need the latest "in" thing.

I make my DSD get dressed and we sit at the dining room table with all distractions off. When the learning environment is informal, she tends to goof off. Making her get dressed and sit in a certain spot helps her get in the mindset that it's time to learn.

We tried HSing in her room sitting on the floor but she kept grabbing stuff and playing with it. This is just her first month HSing so perhaps after she gets used to it we can be more relaxed.

We have been homeschooling for 1 month, mostly in our pajamas.

But we had kind of a rough day today and my dd12 and I were talking about how to make things run more smoothly.

We are instituting an earlier bedtime and start time - she's already through with complete freedom:eek:

So while reading this thread, I asked her if she would like for us to be dressed before we start and she said "yes, please".

I like Friday PJ day. We are dressed and have our morning chores done before we have breakfast; we start school after. We are already having a "special breakfast" day Friday; maybe I can loosen up some more and "go PJs".
