I mentioned a few weeks ago she was having a horrible tooth issue. We have done the consultations with the periodontist and spent the last two weeks awaiting info from the dentist about how to proceed. They kept dragging their feet. My daughter woke up this morning, slightly swollen. We went back to the dentist and she put her on another round of antibiotics and gave us a referral for an oral surgeon. After spending what felt like a LIFETIME on the phone with the oral surgeon's office and the insurance company (three calls each b/c the oral surgeon said they didn't accept my insurance, but my insurance company was assuring me they did!), finally got her an appointment for 8:15 Thursday morning for the consult AND tooth removal (I expressed the absolute urgency of this situation in my best mother guilt sort of way). Fast forward to this evening. My daughter's left side of her face is completely swollen and she's had absolutely NO relief even though she is alternating ibuprofen and tylenol. If feel so awful. I'm also fearful as I nearly lost my sister last month to Ludwig's Angina (a very horrible potential result of an infectious tooth that CAN be deadly). Anyway, if you think of it, can you please pray for my sweet 14 year old who is suffering greatly??? THANK YOU!!!!!
Hi! Thank you all for praying!!!!! My daughter's surgery was this a.m. and it went WONDERFULLY!!!! The oral surgeon was so nice, and so wonderful!!!! They also told us that she will be old enough for the implant by January - since girls stop growing about 2 years after their first cycle, she can get an implant!!!! Our dentist had told us she can't until she's 18. And it's much cheaper than the other routes our dentist mentioned. So...we are very excited about this news. Her biggest difficulty today was the numbness from the novacaine. SHE HATES THAT. She prefers pain over numb...crazy! She said the pain she's experiencing is not as bad as what it was before the tooth was removed. It went so much better than we could have ever imagined. Thank you SO much for all your prayers!
