We're doing things a bit different this year by having our commencement on Saturday evening from 4-8. After the program we're having a cookout/picnic with games, cotton candy, popcorn, sno-cones and a dunking booth where the kids get a chance to dunk their teachers. Glad I wasn't one this year! It really should be a lot of fun.
I WANNA COME!!!!!! (See me throwing myself, kicking and screaming on the floor until I get my way and can come and dunk Eeyore. I cn just see poor Eeyore, ears dripping, wringing out the wet tail.....)
Our church did Construction Zone this year, and it was alot of fun- cute songs! I've seen alot of Serengeti Treks and Ramblin' Road Trips around here!
Y'all will just have to imagine dunking poor ol' Eeyore because it didn't happen & ain't ever gonna happen. Our theme was the Construction Zone & it was really cute. The theme carried out the idea of building character like Jesus. All the kids wore yellow hard hats & they got to decorate them with stickers & markers if they wanted. For crafts they did things like decorate little wooden toolboxes, make cement stepping stones, and make ceramic tile trivets. One of the best snack ideas was dirt pudding served in plastic dump trucks & wheelbarrows. The finale went very, very well. We were all just blown away by how many kids & parents we had. We served over 200 people and we are a very small country church. The really good thing is that although we did have several kids (besides our own) come from other churches for VBS, the majority of the families are not attending church anywhere. We feel like seed has been planted on fertile soil & we're praying that God will give the increase.
