Today is my son's last day being in PS!!!!! We are so excited to move on to homeschooling next year we can hardly contain ourselves! DD1 finished PreK yesterday with Head Start. They have an extended week program that extends to June 2nd but I politely declined. I'm going to work with my kids this summer with reading (at least 20 minutes a day). I bought my son a few chapter books to read over the summer as well. I'm hoping to get my children signed up with a reading program at the library. But other than that it's swimming and VBS!!!!! Hoping to have a nice, and relaxing summer with my family.
happy for you. i can't wait for our turn, 5 more weeks to go................... enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good health and happiness!
Thank you all....it's so good to know such supportive people who understands my excitement and share things with!
Yay!!We are almost done with Public school too. June 6th is the last day!! Homeschooling starts first week of July here we are getting excited!
We start Sept 5th. We are taking a nice loooong break to decompress. I feel as though I've hs for a long time now with all the plan, plan, planning we've been doing. I think the Sept/June schedule would work very well with us. Thanks for all the congrats and . It's nice to know you all care about our new venture!!!
Congratulations!! I know how you feel, we're almost there too...just one last week to go! Are your kids as excited as you are? Mine are a bit ambiguous...
I was very surprised that my kids wanted to be home schooled. My son was actually relieved since he was being bullied in school. My daughter surprised me the most because she really love Head Start and from what I could tell was excited about starting at the "big school". Turns out, her excitement was anxiety and loves the thought of mommy teaching her how to read and arithmetic at the kitchen table! She was home with me on box day when UPS delivered our books....the look on her face when we opened the box and looked at all of the books, dvds, and cds was priceless. Better than Christmas. I've asked my kids several times if they were sure they wanted to be home schooled, they always answered with an absolutely, positively .
