This was heart-wrenching. The author really captured the struggle and fear of the elephant. Politically, it is a terrible situation. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18092626/site/newsweek/ But, what impacted me most, was this statement in the very last paragraph in this Newsweek story: "That same day that our Lord Jesus died for us," said Ng'andu, "that elephant sacrificed for his friends to live.” ...in Zambia! While I'm heartbroken over that elephant, and the apparent situation for other elephants in Zimbabwe, I'm overwhelmingly encouraged the words above. Anyone else catch the numerous implications of what was said, by whom, where it was said, the nature of the article's content, AND where it was published?!?
