Has anyone attended a virtual homeschool group? I found one on the internet today...and I was curious about it. I am somewhat internet challenged, even computer challenged, although I'm getting better I finally figured out how to play music from youtube while I do other things on line.:) So i'm a little apprehensive of this. By the way this is the first thread I've ever posted!

Good job on your first thread! lol

I've never heard of a virtual homeschool group. I suppose that's what I'd consider this to be. What is it exactly?

Yeah I'm not sure I understand what it is..lol I would consider this a virtual group. It's where all my homeschooling friends hang out. :)

The virtual homeschool group is a classroom with lessons on the internet. I guess like on line classes for homeschoolers. Thanks for your replies!

    like K12?
I think maybe there is confusion in what you mean by "virtual homeschool group". For me a homeschool group is a group of homeschoolers in my area. but a virtual homeschool is a school that the child is enrolled in that is online..such as K12.

Is it similar to online college classes, where you have a book and/or online information to study, and then you post answers to discussion questions on a private forum?

Ok, I know of a few things like this.

One, virtual homeschool group is exactly what it's called I believe, has a great tutorial floating around for using OneNote. I have not explored there any more, just looked and it does seem all their classes are free??

There is one that is for "gifted" students out there, it is crazy expensive.

They have started offering live classes at currclick. We did a free one when they were first starting, I think it was about water maybe? I think it was put out by Science Jim.. who was pretty decent in my son's eyes. But really it's hard for me to say yes we will be online at certain times each day.

If it was something you were thinking about I would try one of the free courses first before coosing one that costs anything for sure.

I looked into it. I like the idea of it, but I'm not burr I'd want to commit to being online at certain times either. Also, I couldn't find a list of classes, just some information about Biology.

I wish CurrClick's live classes weren't so expensive!!
