I am now waiting for the rest (ok majority of it) of my curriculum to show up. I want it NOW!!! I ordered the last of my text books for sd while at conference this weekend. I spent a ton of money but I do not have to keep searching so I am happy about that. I still need to get some literature guides once I settle on what I am doing.

I even ordered stuff for dd. We are planning on sending her to ps for k next year but the child just really wants to learn. I got some math and phonics for her and we will work on that this summer.

Now I want it here so I can plan and play with all the good stuff. I know it is supposed to only take a week but I want it now.

It's like Christmas when all the goodies arrive!

Why are you sending dd to K? Do you homeschool the rest of the kids?

DD is a very active and vocal child. She also likes alot of Mommy attention. It is very difficult to get consistent quiet time with sd to go over work when dd is around. Sd is not very self directed at this point (this was our 1st full year of homeschooling her). There is also a big age difference sd is going into 11th grade next year and dd is 5/6( Dec bday).

The idea of doing 11th and k (formally that is) overwhelms me. I need to be in either high school mode or elementary mode. Our local ps has 1/2 day kindergarten so we decided to send her. We have not decided on 1st grade yet it will probably depend on how sd does this year. Sd has gotten alot better at her time management and focus but we are playing in by ear (and prayer). If I am not happy with the kindergarten class or dd is too bored we already warned sd that we would pull her and she will have to adapt. It is just hard since this is a learning experience for me too. I have to shed my teacher training to know that it is ok not to do things like the ps. I am getting there though.

I hope the stuff gets her monday, they said 7-10 days so I know it will be here by next Friday but that is when life gets crazy. Sd has her 16th birthday party that weekend and then dd has a "graduation" from her pre-k program so my Mom will be here visiting. That week sd has her testing too. Yikes it all happens at once sometimes doesn't it.
