We want to go to the Grand Canyon but first wanted to see if any of you all can help us first. First, Have any of you gone? When is the best time to go? We're Going that direction also, may go to Mesa Verde, it was really good when I was 5! Might just be better now!
I found some cool worksheets/unit studies on the Grand canyon at: http://school.discovery.com It is the Discovery/TLC channel website. You can either do a search by typing in Grand Canyon or search by grade and subject. Also another website I ran across was: www.travelwithfamily.com On their homepage they have info on the Grand Canyon, you click on that and it takes you to that page and there is alot of info regarding facts, park fees and attractions/activities. Plus some links to other sites. Best time to go is off peak season which is spring, early summer when school is on break and tourist from other countries come when it not so hot. It is also cheaper traveling off season. The Grand Canyon is very beautiful in winter when it snows , but there is fog and sometimes you can not see all of the canyon but what a sight!! My father went last year and said it is a trip for everyone to see in their life time. He loved it. He hopes we can afford to go one day. We are from SC. Long way off. It is in my dreams.
