I work at the local public school as a substitute teacher and teacher's aide. I started a Warm Fuzzy project with the kids. They have a jar full of warm fuzzies and they can give one to someone, just because, if the person is feeling down, etc. It has been a success and more fuzzies were made today by the teacher and I, 263 to be exact!

When I was in school, we did "warm fuzzies". Ours were just yarn necklaces with pieces of yarn tied to them. We would take one of our fuzzies and tie it to someone else's necklace and give them encouragement or a compliment. Let me just say that, at a high school level, the compliments I received were of--how shall I say this--of an ample anatomical nature. Didn't quite have the impact the staff thought it would! With what grade level are you using these?

We are doing it for 3rd grade. The Warm Fuzzy jar is now empty, all 250 of them that I made so today they are getting their party. We made more so we have filled the jar up once again. When I take a pic of the cake I will post it, its a warm fuzzy cake.

    Sure!

I bought the poms from www.orientaltrading.com or you can get them at any crafts store. They come in different sizes. You get eyes, they also come in an assortment of colors. The antennas are pearl stamens. You can get those from a crafts store in the floral section and a glue gun. Fold the pearl stamen in half, put a dab of hot glue on it, poke it in the pom, the eyes are also glued with hot glue. Let the glue set for a few seconds so you dont melt the eyes.

    Have fun!

When I went to school we made pet rocks one year in art class. We glued on eyes, and use pipe cleaners if I remember right. They were really cute.
I think the folks at the nursing home would like to get a 'fuzzy'.
My girls used to go once a week with our church group to sing and the people really liked that.

Michaels or Hobby Lobby would have everything you need for the fuzzies. The bigger fuzzies had feet and I made those out of the foam sheets and I had flip flop stickers, looked cute!

Thank you for sharing how you made them. I think I will make up a jar of them for my son's First grade classroom (maybe that'll make the teacher more encouraging)
