I couldn't agree more. They are a total disgrace. How many conversations with others end with individuals stating that, if Christians are like Westboro Baptist Church, they want nothing to do with Christ.

Even worse is all the child molestation that took place in the Catholic church. I've been in a recent discussion about the UK judge's decision to bar a Christian couple from fostering a child. Someone chimed in that the worst child abusers are priests in the Catholic church, so it's a good idea to keep Christians away from children.

One day, some folks are going to have an awful lot to answer for.

Gee. I wonder which group is showing God's love to people? Which group will non-believers be drawn to? Which group will people say, "If that's Christianity, I want no part of it!"

This is one of my biggest frustrations with people like this. It's really no surprise why people are turned off by Christianity when people like this are representing.

These people disgust me each and every time I see them in the media. :x

Reading those signs made me sick. I just don't understand! Thank God for the Patriot Guard and the work they do to protect families from those horrible people.

I found it interesting that the Methodist minister who was speaking for the Patriot Guards didn't call names, was soft spoken and addressed his own actions as a matter of faith. He never openly addressed the actions of the Westboro Baptist Church members.
On a side note, The pastor of the Westboro church has had 2 of his own children leave the church entirely. I know one has become an avowed atheist. He is not only driving the general public away from Christ, but his own children too.
I think the Patriot Guard is to be highly commended for protecting the families of the fallen while not openly engaging in verbal warfare with the protesters.

What irritates me the most is that MY church's abbreviation is WBC as well!!!! AHHHHHHH! I don't even know how they can consider themselves a 'church'. They don't preach Biblical truth or love! All they do is picket and protest and spew hatred which is not of God. Disgusting! These people should be ashamed of themselves.

Didn't the court just acknowledge their "right" to protest like this?
Praise God for the Patriot Guard!

Yes, they did, Lindina. But if the protestors have the "right", so do the Patriot Guard.

Me too. So mad! But...truth be told, most of them have crossed the lines of legality a time or two and have been fined, taken to court, or thrown in jail. They do reap what they sow...read the wikipedia link. Yep...that's a 'church' that I'd want to be a part of *sarcasm*. Morons......

Look I'm about as conservative as they come, but WBC makes me feel physically ill. Every time I hear about them I get sick to my stomach.

It is people like that that make feel almost ashamed to say "I'm a Christian!" Not to deny Jesus, but to deny those people! They are why so many people are angry at Christians, why so many people think Christians are all stupid, close-minded, judgmental idiots.

It's sad, because that's not who I am....
