My husband was shopping tonight for Christmas presents, was in the garage unloading bags, when he burst through the door, his eyes huge, grabbed his coat and said that his son (he has two boys from a previous marriage) called and was crying so hard he couldn't understand him because they just got home from chruch and their house was on fire. I was stunned! I just shooed him and said, "go go!"....I'm a nervous wreck, I have no idea what's going on, he obviously is too busy to text or call. Thankfully no one was there (except their cat, worried!)...Just please pray for them and their mommy.
GOOD NEWS!! GOD IS GOOD!!! (not like we didn't already know that, but a good reminder) It was their fireplace, whoever built it was an idiot. They put the wood frame too close to the fire. It just damaged the area around the fireplace, so just stockings and a picture or two above the mantle. The firefighter said that if they got home 30 or 40 minutes later, everything would have been destroyed. They found their kitty, hiding in a bed room safe and sound. Their mom is taking off work tomorrow to clean up and should have it done by tomorrow evening. Ain't God good? Thanks for the prayers sisters!
Oh, dear, I just now read this!!! Am glad everyone is OK, and there's very little damage. Friends of ours had a house fire about two months ago. Extensive damage, but there's a dozen of "little" miracles.
I'm glad everyone was ok, even the kitty. We had a fire in our house when I was about 5, the ashes from old fires were kept in a 5 gal. bucket, the latest ones were still hot evidently, I was getting PJ's from the dryer and saw some small sparks and flames, my parents thought I was making it up. Until the house filled with smoke.
I just saw this and am so thankful everything turned out okay. Friends of ours had a terrible house fire and one of their daughters ran back inside some how and was killed. It was the middle of the night and they all got outside but for some reason the seven year old went back in and no one saw her do it. Her Daddy got cut up pretty bad trying to get to her. They never got over it.
