Good grief! Its all my fault......

Wednesday I came home from my first day of work which was incredibly horrible. I ran 40 minutes behind. Which is fantastic when you drive a school bus. I told them about this before school started but they still taking the wait and see approach

So when I got home the kids were so busy working. I think my head swelled. So to be sweet I said lets go outside and school and we will bring the bunnies out. Well people I haven't seen all summer came over too see the bunnies. I tried to explain we are schooling, to no avail.

I was getting to be late morning and I had to go back for the second half of my day. My good friend who had a worse day then me driving that morning I decided to give her a call to see if she wanted to meet us for lunch at the Vietnamese restaurant. Plus I took my mom for her anniversary. LOL (probably would of helped it I brought my dad)

    Lunch was fantastic!

Then my mom took the kids shopping and my friend and I went back to work. So basically I screwed up my kids day. It wasn't them. Needless to say they didn't get anything else completed.

Its bad when mom has ADD!

It happens. But, hey...it sounds like they had fun, got to play with bunnies, socialized with grandma, and had a really great lunch. At least it's still so early in the school year that getting off track isn't too terrible. We haven't even started (not all of our stuff has arrived)! Maybe start fresh on Monday. :)

Christine, don't feel bad! When you got home they were WORKING! So you congratulated them in a tangible way, had a great lunch (ok, so discuss Thai food and call it "geography" and "nutrition" and whatever else it fits!), and you can start again on Monday!

Hey that is what makes homeschooling so great, it is ok if your day gets derailed like that once in a while. The fact that they were working is great, next week will be better.

Sounds like it was just one day. My first day was interesting too. We spent the day doing a session of math and then we ran errands. Then Dd wanted recess and then it was time to feed the animals(animal science on a second grade level is what I call it since we are learning how to brush horses, feed animals, and water them), then we played a game of yahtzee(more math as far as I'm concerned), then we did another lesson and ate lunch and called it a day. It's ok though because we got back on track once we had all our supplies the next day and still had a good time. First days aren't always all about learning they can be fun too.

I definately need to get an attitude adjustment! I blew it again. urgh...... I was driving my bus yesterday morning and I heard on the radio that The Crab Shack was opening locally, the first 100 people through the door got free crab for a year. LOL..... That's all it took, we were on our way. LOL I brought the kids books and they did do english while waiting in line. But the long and short of it we got free dinner not the free crab for a year. LOL

Guess we will start fresh next week and I am hoping not to de-rail this time. I have never had this struggle before. Guess i wasn't ready to be back in the game.
