This may sound like a silly question, but I just don't know what to call it. LOL

I really don't want to use the term 'religion' as when he's older I would like to teach him what other religions believe, why it's different and why we think it's wrong (respectfully of course)

But 'Bible Study' or 'Christianity' or 'Protestant Religion' or 'Southern Baptist Faith' or 'Faith and Character' what???

What do you call yours on your records?

I just call it Bible -- and count it in high school as an "elective" although the students don't really get a choice. I might get more descriptive and call it OT Survey or NT Survey or Life of Christ or whatever title might best apply.

    Bible.

The other stuff (OT Survey or whatever) would be to me like studying Ancient Civilizations for History.

I called it AWANA because that is the program my daughter participated in. Other homeschoolers called Bible study history or ancient civilization. You can get creative. Perhaps call it Life Skills.

I write it up as Bible, reading, and geography. But usually it is Bible.

I have younger ones, but on my records the class is listed as Religions (yes with an 's') because as they get older we will be studying more about religions of the world along with our regular bible classes. I feel it's important for them to be informed about the religions out there so they can better understand others and in some ways be better prepared to defend their own faith (for lack of better terms).

We call our "Bible Study" for now. As we focus on different areas or religions we will probably change the title to suit.

Ours is gonna be "Character studies" because it is not only going to be bible studies-it is going to be catechism prep, bible, memorization AND character lessons....um..I'm kinda cheating because I'm counting any of their writings under language arts (well, the schools do it sooooooo why not?) so it's like a subdivision.

Once they are in middle school it will be Religion, because it will be an actuall study of ours, and others, religions.

    Bible

And as they learn about other religions, I will probably include that in History or Geography - when we are studying other places. Of course, there are many religions right here in America - We practice, Deuteronomy 6:7, "You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up."

    Don't sweat the small stuff~ :)

And when you get right down to it -- it's almost all small stuff!
