Sometimes I get so hungry and I really am trying to figure out what foods help me to not be hungry. (or any safe supplements to take) I know it varies through the month (oh the great hormones of womanhood) ha!

How do you help control your appetite?
    Thanks,
    Kristine

I drink lots of water and snack all the time. Maybe if you eat less more often.

I drink water and brush my teeth. Brushing my teeth makes food taste bad, it really doesn't curb the appetite. Recently the doctor told me to start taking a powdered fiber supplement. I find that this really fills me up because it expands in my stomach. I have to take it twice a day until my next appointment. So I take it in between meals. I really like it. Since I am on restrictive diet, I feel hungry during the day. Although I am taking it for medical reasons, it has helped enormously with my hunger.

when I want eat for the sake of eating but I know I can't hae carbs I eat a handful of nuts, today I had some pistachios--- breaking shells makes you keep your hands busy and you want to give up after a handful anyway.

peanutbutter is good too, I like a spoonful of chunky Jif.

if you have a sweet tooth you may learn to keep some small candies on hand. I was satisfied with 2 small peanutbutter cups from a bag of them, or sometimes 2-3 hershey kisses is good too. Just don't keep going back!

sugar free gum or sugar free life savers (I think you can get the mint ones individually wrapped)

instead of plain water drink crystal light...... or hot tea or something like that....... its not as mucch of a chore as drinking plain water. Plus if you drink green tea or add those "to-go" packets to a bottle of water you can get healthy anitoxident enhansed ones.

I second the teeth brushing method.

I just weighed myself the other day for the first time in two years. Blech! The past few days I've been trying to cut down on the snacking...after the kids finally get to bed & I get some quiet time I grab something to eat & park it in front of the TV. Turns out that makes for one fat Melissa! So I brush my teeth with the kids rather than right before I get into bed. Food doesn't taste very good so I don't want to snack.

I totally agree with this. And when you snack just make it healthy like fruit or yogurt.
