I'm looking for fun and educational games for my son (10) 4th grade level.

I got some old ones online, like Oregon Trail, and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.

Which ones do you use at home that you would recommend?

Mine aren't quite that old, but I have a website (in my siggy) that I am listing FREE stuff for all grades I come across when searching for free stuff for my own kids. There might be something listed there you could use.

Any of the Zoombini titles for math (patterns, sequence, logic).

Any kids software from DK (dorling-kindersley, the same folks who do the Eyewitness books and videos).

Zeus, Master of Olympus and Pharoah for some neat period strategy games.

And the best one of all, Civilization.

Try Crazy Machines - they have lots of different ones nowadays but we've only ever played the first one. It was a lot of fun and my son was hooked! He was about 10 when we got it, so it is just the perfect age.

This isn't a game you buy, but a site. I've used it before; Rachael taught herself the location of most countries using this. My younger two started today learning the countries of Africa. It starts out very easy, and works its way to some really complicated stuff. http://www.sheppardsoftware.com
