What is a lapbook?

I have heard of these before, but have no idea as to what they are? Mind helping me out?

Oh.. if you google lapbook you will find some awesome resourses. You can get some that are already made.. you just cut and past pretty much.. or you can create your own using your own ideas. There are places to get templates for the little "minibooks" that go in it by googling lapbook templates.

 

also, if you do a search on this forum you wil find lots of info on them.

Thanks! Now, are these more for putting together to learn or something that you put together as you learn?

 

We put together as we learn. If you get a pre-made one, it will usually come with a curriculum of sorts- what activites to do each day. When we make them up ourselves, I just come up with things that go along with our theme. You can check out my blog to see some Christmas ones that we have done recently. I'm not the greatest at planning them, but my kids love them.

 

My blog has pictures of one we have done. I need to put our latest one up, too, but it will probably be a while!

 

We also put ours together as we go. I plan on posting ours, if I can figure out how to save my photos to the computer. This computer is different than the other and I am having trouble saving my pictures.

Patty, is it the Vista software that's making it difficult or some trial photo mess that came pre-installed? Ours came with one of those, and I had to remove it to get my pics to work right. I have Windows Photo Gallery and it works great- even resizes and compresses the pics for me!! Let me know if I can help.
