Its the worse month in the whole year for me. I do my bookkeeping to prepare our 1099's. So I always have knot in the bottom of my stomach this month, until the end of the month. This is the first year, I actually STOPPED hsing for 3 weeks and did my taxes and took a break. 8)

Guess what? The homeschool police didn't come to my house

You know sometimes we get going so fast, we don't take our own advice. I can't even remember the last time I did the *off thing* when it comes to schooling so many weeks and taking so many off. :? I hardly ever, I just keep on truckin.

What a nice refreshing catchup for me. I spent two weeks doing taxes, and one week doing nothing. It has been EXTREMELY nice. Oh well we did manage to go on a field trip. We went to the police station and got put in jail, which was lots of fun.

Plus isn't January kinda of a dreary month anyway :(

But, NOW that the summer homeschool conventions have been posted, I can't wait. :D :D

Is anybody going to be coming to the Arlington one in Texas? Its on May 6,7. Thats the one I think I'm going to this year...

I have already been making my *list and checking it twice*...

Plus I'm glad this month is almost over :p

I couldn't agree with you more! I HATE January. During this month, I envy the bears out there who are hibernating in their caves!
Here at our house, we're just counting the days 'til we leave for (what we hope to be- sunny) Florida!

I have been running so many different directions this month that I am glad it is almost over. Not sure that Feb will be much better in that respect but..... ROFL.

I'm EXTREMEMLY GRATEFUL that we didn't have any colds over the holidays and we are all healthy - minus allergies that kicked up this past week.

Of course I could have done without the car repairs that we needed last week $750, normal eye Dr. exam cost, dental cost for our 2 year old who HAD a cavity - 2 trips to the dentist and one to the pediatric dentist later..., a birthday party at a local birthday place, and all those other people who wanted money last week. YIKES!!!! Whew, I'm poor now!!!! Healthy put poor - can't complain!!! :p

I am looking forward to hitting at least one of the homeschool fairs, too!

But...for now I must clean my house, clean my desk, do my book keeping, design a website, take care of the family, wash, school and all those *normal* everyday things. AND YA KNOW WHAT??? It's a dreary day and I have the motivation to do ZERO of them. ROFL - good thing it's Sunday.

Honeys, I have no use for the months October- March.
September is tolerable because we have many 80-90 degree days still.
I hate- with passion unbridled- fall and winter. Hate, hate, hate.

Heidi, bring back some of that warm air!!

The only thing I really like about Ohio is its four very distinct seasons. I'm still enjoying winter here, but come mid-February I'll be ready for spring and my bulbs to come up. I love spring! Then toward the middle of May, I'm excited for summer to come proper so we can go swimming, etc. and for DH to be out of school. But come the beginning of September, I'm aching for changing leaves and cool nights. Once the leaves are down, I'm miserable with the cold until we get a REAL SNOW....... And, of course, I want a White Christmas, a thing almost unheard of in Central Ohio........

I don't think you got to worry about the police coming after you. I just go about homeschooling my children and if I feel we day a day off I take it and if I have errands to run I run them and if people ask I just say we homeschool and leave it at that. If I do get question any futher I just tell them with homeschooling you can teach anytime of the day and night and we never stop learning even when we are doing errands. We read signs, check prices, and add and then compare. We are always learning. Then they usually respond with that is wonderful idea. I tell them then we go home and cook or bake and the girls do most of it themself I just stand by for extra help. They all love it.
Tina, you do a wonderful job with your boys and you all deserve time off. Every one does.
    Take care.

    Kris..

You are a dear :D You know so many times I *just hit the floor running* and I am such a person that thrives well in structure and routine, so that when I take some time off, I have to look around to see *if anybody is watching*  (like it really matters).

I just get so tickled at myself for *moving ahead, moving ahead*. I forget to look back and enjoy myself along the way :D

My sister is SOOOO very different than I am. She does EVERYTHING ELSE for the day, then works school in. You know she feeds the horses, chickens, works in the garden, does some canning and Oh yes shops, then at the end of the day they school

I wish I could be a *tad more* like that

Tina, I went to Oral Roberts my first two years of college. I remember going short-sleeve one week, and having snow the next. Will Rogers once said that if you didn't like Oklahoma weather, just wait a few minutes and it would change. (But then, when you're in Oklahoma, I think Will Rogers said EVERYTHING..... :) )
