I'm looking for a new homeschool read. I loved Homeschooling With A Meek And Quiet Spirit! Any new suggestions would be wonderful!

The Clarksons' book, Educating the Whole-Hearted Child. The concept that Christian education was about DISCIPLESHIP, rather than academics, was revolutionary to me! Carl had a hard time with it, until we had serious problems with his oldest boy. Then Carl realized that walking with the Lord HAD to be the most important.

I Saw the Angel in the Marble..It's actually a collection of essays, and I wish I'd have read it before I began this journey.

Thank you! I've heard of the first book mentioned, but not the second. I'll have to check it out! Thanks again!

    I can't just pick one.

It would be almost any book written by Linda Dobson or Rebecca Rupp. I read a majority of their books when I first got into homeschooling.

I enjoyed Linda Dobson's "The First Year of Homeschooling Your Child: Your Complete Guide to Getting Off to the Right Start" because it answered many of my questions before commiting to homeschool my son years ago.

I like Rebbeca Rupp's "Home Learning Year by Year : How to Design a Homeschool Curriculum from Preschool Through High School" because I found it helpful for ideas in creating a curriculum tailored for our son.

I am currently reading, "Home Sweet Home-School: A Survivor's Guide to Giving Your Kids a Quality Education" by Sue Makestad

and my favorite by far has been a book about homeschooling families called,
"Real-Life Homeschooling: The Stories of 21 Families Who Teach Their Children at Home" by Rhonda Barfield

Best, freeing, homeschool book I have just finished reading is "Lies Homeschool Mom's Believe" by Todd Wilson. Soooooo good! It really makes you take a look at what you are doing and why you are doing it!!

Not read it, but I've heard Todd talk on the subject. VERY powerful, and (as you said!) freeing!

Don't really have a favorite but anything by Ruth Beechick really clicks with me- simple, straightforward, encouraging advice on learning.

The one that has been the most enlightening for me in my 20 yr journey is....

"A Mom Just Like You" by Vickie Farris and Jayme Farris Metzgar

(Wife and daughter of HSLDA Michael Farris) "...Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning...how can I keep on home schooling my kids? ...A mom like me?"
