Singapore is our spine Miquon we do along with and we use extra things from a couple math workbooks I've picked up along the way.
We've done some Key to Math series as well. We're partially through Measurement, but too much at once and the guy wants to do multiplication so... Anyway. It's a great poll!
Singapore as the spine with Miquon, but I also use Professor B, Quarter Mile Math, Calculadder, and even my own math sheets to fill in with extra practice and drills.
We use Calvert Math & a little Singapore for my oldest and Calvert, Singapore and Bright Minds mathematical reasoning for my K level guy.
Look back, TMom, most people that put "other" wrote a comment on what they are using. Much of the "other" is MUS.
AOP works great with my daughter...she does so well with the spiral approach. I consider switching her, still thinking about it. I figure I could always switch and then if we don't use it, eventually my son will...it's not THAT expensive for MUS materials now that we have the blocks. No more than AOP.
We use MUS. We had used Horizons previously, but it just didn't work for us. I am SO grateful for MUS.
I am looking into TT Geometry for next year if dd says home as she is debating, but have heard so much about MUS that I may check them out too! :?:
I have never used MUS, so I don't know for sure......BUT, I have heard that it's harder to jump into MUS at older ages/higher levels because it builds on it's own way of doing things. So it may be okay for your younger ds, but maybe not for your dd? You might want to check about that too. If I'm wrong, that's fine, just thought I'd mention it.
We tried the Spectrum Math workbooks, but dd hated them (too much review, repetition & practice). She's currently using the Key To.. series. She'll be using a free online Pre-Algebra course next year (tried to use it this year, but with everything else she's doing it was too much, so we put it off til next year). She'll be using Key To... for Algebra. We noticed that the Key To Geometry is actually missing some pretty important stuff, so we're thinking of using TT for that (still have a few years to decide). Ds isn't using a program at all for math, but we plan to use Mastering Mathematics for him.
We use a little of all of these.... Horizons (mainly, I love Horizons!) Abeka (just starting their math for 3rd, just because it goes through highschool, unlike horizons.) MUS (alpha, beta, and gama)
I chose other since we haven't used any of those. Singapore was great for the primary series. We're now doing algebra through www.artofproblemsolving.com Absolutely great books and thorough solution manuals. It is very rigorous but well worth it!
