Ok, the thread about the wedding gifts got me thinking. What was everyone's favorite wedding gifts?

    I have 2 hubby has 1

    1 my kitchen aid mixer
2 our mentor couple (very nice people) gave us something, I believe newlyweds bopper. I remember because it was wrapped in wedding paper from their wedding nearly 20 years before. I still have that paper.

    Hubby
His favorite was the 1976 glasses and picture that his mother bought the year he was born. She packed them away when they moved from Phylly several years before and kept them there until my husband got married!

We didn't get any wedding gifts because we eloped. No money to have a wedding.

I don't remember any wedding gift whatsoever, but they really didn't matter anyway since God blessed me with the most wonderful wife in the world. :)

We never got any wedding presents at all. I resent that a little. My inlaws said the wedding would happen over their dead body. DH and I went to the court house then. He did not want a big wedding when no one on his side would be there. My side is very small and my mother made a big issue that weddings are pompous and self centered and pagaentry and I would be showboating if I had one. We just got legally married. No gifts, not even really a congrats. Not even a card. But then, both my brother and sister got married. My mother made a huge issue of it and bought big gifts and paid for a big wedding for my little sister. To this day, she makes a big issue of their anniversaries but when mine comes around, she said it is not real because I did not have a real wedding.

A quilt that my grandmother made... she made all of her grandchildren one years before we began getting married. She wanted to make sure they were done in case she was no longer able to quilt.

Egads! I can't remember that far back to recall the presents. We just celebrated our 19th anniversary.

wow! thats over 25 years ago I don't remember all what I got. Would have to go dig out wedding books and look over them. but, if I could pick I don't think so, I think every gift was special in it's own way. Everyone give me that gift for a reason, so I am sure it had a place in my heart at that time. I know gifts weren't important to me at the time, I just wanted to have family and friends with us, gifts are nothing, they come and go. But, family and friends are there to stay.

We got married in Denmark then flew back to the states for our "honeymoon" in NY and CA so we didn't receive any regular gifts BUT my church gave us a beautiful reception and gave us cash instead of gifts. This came in handy because it took us 2 weeks of our 4 week leave time just to travel which meant a number of nights in hotels. It was an experience I wouldn't trade for the world! Its funny to see peoples faces when we tell them how a girl from Upstate NY ended up married to a guy from the Caribbean!

Hmmmm....favorite gift......maybe it was the 6 hand blenders, or the 47 pictures frames? Really other than that I can't remember what we got. Oh wait! I remember getting 10 super soft towels. Those were really nice. But I don't really remember having a favorite gift.
