:(This has truly been the week to test my patience and endurance. Ever since last Saturday, at least one of my kids has been down with the stomach flu (vomiting/diarahea). And why is it that they always start getting sick at around 4 in the morning? I haven't yet slept more than 4 hours in a row for nearly a week. I'm fairly sure the only reason I'm not sick is out of sheer determination. Even dh has been down with it.
I wanted to close down the daycare to keep exposure to a minimum, but most of my moms are single and don't have back-up plans; so I continue to have a full house. The only one who did keep her kids home called yesterday to say they have the stomach bug too. Ironically none of my "extras" who've been here every day are the least bit ill.
One of my daycare moms has apparently decided that she no longer needs to raise her son. She drops him off at 6 am and picks him back up at 6 pm. I feel so bad for this little guy. I did get after her earlier for not picking him up till 6:30 (I close at 6 as dd has outside activities at 6:30) Of course, she's always the one late with payment, too.
Than this morning I checked the basement as we're under a flood warning. Water streaming down a wall and all over my dh's books. Our home was only built last year! :x Dh won't be back home till Sunday, so I'm doing my best to handle it all.
One good piece of news - dh was home yesterday afternoon till shortly after midnight. He let me nap from 4 to 7 and even took on the extra kids till they were picked up. I know how much he needed that sleep, so for him to let me nap means he actually knew how utterly exhausted I was.
Sorry for the vent, but I'm not exactly sure how I'll get through today. Ds2 is vomiting yet again. Amazingly though, we've actually gotten about half of our schoolwork done - anything that involved being read to anyways :)
    This too shall pass.

Yes, my dear it will pass! And you will realize you are a mom for a reason.. because you are strong enough to handle it all.. and God knows that or he wouldn't have led you to be the great mommy you are!

You are wonderful to put the needs of the single moms ahead of your own ... proof positive that not all of God's angels are in heaven :)

Thanks everyone for the sweet words of encouragement! These are the days when I really just need to "talk" to another grown-up. Thanks for letting me do that.
My crew is taking longer stretches today between tummy troubles - at least that's a plus!
The rain has momentarily stopped, so hopefully the standing water will find a place to go other than my basement.
All "extras" should be gone within the next two hours! My kids and I are not leaving this house, but will just curl up on the couch with a family flick and try to recover. I think it's just what is needed tonight! :)
