My oldest daughter (13 years old) is very interested in the human body and all things related to it (particularly paleontology, anthropology, and forensics). I am looking for some sort of human body model for her to use. I'd love it if the individual bones would come apart and fit back together like the ones I played with in college. She is particularly interested in the skull and spinal column at this point.

Where could I but or rent something for her without spending $1000? All ideas are welcome!

There's an awesome high-quality human skull model on Amazon for $50

    http://www.amazon.com/Medical-Anato...891781&sr=8-7&keywords=kid's+anatomical+model

Go to Amazon and search "kid's anatomical model". There are some fantastic kits...some of them very reasonably priced.

Also, you might want to write an email to an Anatomy teacher at a local college. Explain your daughter's enthusiasm and see if the teacher (or an assistant) has time to give your daughter a tour of the anatomy lab. Even community colleges have plastinated full body specimens, now...and of course all the models to study.

If you ever get the chance to catch "Body Worlds" or a similar show...it's SO WORTH IT! Google images from Body Worlds....it's breathtaking. My daughter and I saw it in Chicago several years ago...it's unforgettable.
