I seriously am such a big ol Texas sized dork. I LOVE to plan and do schedueing! I could do it all the time. I have allowed Gracie to have this week off as a fall break, for us to have some down time, and to plan out her last term of 2nd grade. I so enjoyed doing this today! We do three 12 week terms but this last term begining next week is only going to last 7 weeks and will take us right up until Samantha's Christmas break from ps. I want to begin planning 3rd grade now! I keep telling myself to hold off and just get through 2nd grade then I will have plenty time to sit down and do 3rd. Plus if I do it now then what will I possibly have to look forward to? I could seriously spend most of my time planning other people's schedules. I also really enjoy trip planning and dh always says I should have been a travel agent. Anyone else a planning nutjob like me?
I love to plan!!!! When we went to Disney last year I had so much fun planning our shows and which rides we had to hit. I try not to over do it so that I become a vacation nazi but I always feel like we get more done with at least a basic plan. I also start planning our next "semester" well in advance.
YAY! It isn't just me! I actually plan my friends vacations for them. All I need is a general idea of where they want to go and their budget and I am a planning fool! Even though I am holding off on planning 3rd grade (which is soooo hard for me to do) I am browsing curriculum to get lots of idea. Math is a biggie and I am still working that out. I found this geography game called Name That State I think I might buy and a Bible curriculum/study for little girls I am interested in. We didn't really do Bible this year which really bothers me. I know for sure we are doing Language Lessons and Apologia - which Apologia I have no clue. I also have my history, literature and poetry set.
Yesterday I started planning next year's curriculum for the two students I have. Since they're not my kids, I don't have a clue whether they'll be back next year or not. But if they are, I'll have a plan!!! XD
I'm a planner, but something gets lost in the implementation....can a person suffer burnout after 1 week? Love to plan it, though.
I am totally the plan maker. And the list maker. I had to laugh at myself at the end of our growing season. I was pulling out old plants and planning for next year which doesn't start for another 7 months since we live in the Northwest. I had to suppress the urge because it sure is nice to pull out all of the catalogs and garden maps mid winter to get rid of mid winter blues. Happy planning everyone!!!
I also love to plan and have lists scattered all over my house. I even have stacks of notebooks, one for each area I might want to make plans for, like food ideas, school stuff, vacation ideas, household projects, etc. @mjsalmon It's funny you say that about your garden. I would start planning the next years garden right away too. I kept a garden notebook and made notes of what I had too much of and what I wanted more of, and how I wanted to rotate the beds for the next year incase I forgot.
Oh, I get it. So to be a planner, I actually have to be able to commit the thoughts in my head to paper. Herein lies my problem.
 You don't have to write it down. I just know that if I don't get it written down, all the great plans I make in my head have about 5 minutes to happen before I move on. Later I'd be like: Hey, lets go to that park I looked up... what's it called?... I know they had these really neat things to do but...
I enjoy planning too - to an extent. It took me a couple months and 100+ hours to plan out this school year and when I came to the end of that I was done. I have no desire to plan anymore right now, but when the end of the school year comes that will change. Right now I am just enjoying the implementation.
I started planning out 2 weeks of loose lesson plans. I always feel better when I have it prepared. I wish I was more motivated to have plans solidified. As my bff says, "Things don't get done by being motivated. Things get done by doing." *sigh* What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?!
I agree with Brooke sometimes getting everyone else to stick to those plans can be wearing lol ;P I love to plan though
I have to write things down or I will end up forgetting the most important things. If I think of something or see something online I want to check out I have to jot it down or I will end up forgetting.
theres a job for you my friend.. put ads on craigs list you might be surprise who will hit on it and ask you to plan this or that. Maybe even a wedding or a party.. give it try.
ok i'll be the odd duck ~ we pretty much wing everything around here. the planning that i do try is always rather vague - i'm not a list maker and i have the worst time trying to break things down...i see the start, i see the result...i don't see the in between stuff very well.
