Just got a new HP computer and it has windows 8:? it would be so nice if I had an option...... but for the most part I'm not even going to use all of the features that windows 8 was designed for. ---- Bill Gates and his team were over achievers on this product. Anyway. you don't even have to have windows 8 to help me on some of my questions ...... 1) on the favorites bar how do I make the icons just icons and not with words, so that they don't take up so much space. 2) on the front page of windows 8 it has lots of "Apps" my E-mail is one of them but I hate using that because it doesn't show me my email the way I'm used to it, I don't know how to change that, but I do have a way around it. 3) when I'm checking on my e-mail from the windows front page, say I open up an E-mail with a link to something on the internet, I don't know how to go from that to back to my e-mail..... sometimes it seams like I have a bunch of "pages" open but I'm not seeing the other things, I know how to use the keyboard to get me back to the windows app page but I don't know where my other pages go. Its so confusing.........and before you ask why I didn't read the booklet that came with the windows 8 .......... its already been misplaced by one of the kids. ok I have other questions but I don't remember them right now.
Amy, do you have trouble with Windows taking you back to Start (the page with apps) in the middle of using the internet? It's driving me crazy!!
I hate the new Windows 8! MY husbands new computer has it and I can never find what I am looking for. we usually just keep it up on the desktop, and try to forget the start menu. I can't even figure out the music app for this thing... I am still completely confused by it and we have had to since Nov.
If I hit the "window's button" on my keyboard.... first time it happened I didn't realized what button I pushed. ..... now I know. and this morning I discovered there is a tutorial on the icon page.... (when I have time)......
I'm not pushing any keys when it happens, just using the mouse pad. Ugh!! I'm going to have to check out the tutorial.
I'm looking into buying another computer, but I'm scared of Windows 8 LOL But, to be fair, everyone hated Windows Vista and I loved it, other than a few things that I wanted to use weren't compatible with it.... I dunno-wondering how much it would cost to have Windows 7 installed on the computer we want to buy that comes with Windows 8 ....
