Okay so my son is 4 years old now and I have gone down to part time at work( don't work till after 5pm monday through friday and work most of my hours on saturday and sunday) So I want to start homeschooling him during the week but don't have like any money to spend right now. Does anyone have any suggestions for a curriculum that doesn't cost anything?

I know some of you will say, just get books from the library and read to him so we can just skip that part, lol. He's very excited about learning and doing school at home!

Oh and I'm 20 weeks pregnant with our second child, a little boy!!!!

There A LOT of free printables, lapbooks, and other resources on the internet. Plus, at your kiddo's age, a formal education isn't necessary. Hands on playing and learning is the best way to go.

    Great news about your job!

    For a book-based free curriculum, try http://www.amblesideonline.org/curriculum.shtml
For tens of thousands of free worksheets, activities, and other printables, try http://www.education.com/ (handwriting, reading, spelling, all areas of science, maths, geography, history, etc. they have all subjects)
For a more in-depth free history curriculum, try http://worldhistoryforusall.sdsu.edu/
For loads of kindergarten art lessons and projects, try http://www.kinderart.com/
For free K-6 science curriculum-based lesson plans (we did most of it in K, though), try http://www.uq.edu.au/_School_Science_Lessons/year1to6.html#PrimaryScienceLessons

Take it easy at this point, as there is so much information out there it's easy to become overwhelmed. It is very definitely possible to have a free curriculum at this point, so don't worry. Make sure you first have a curriculum or at least list of things you want him to learn during kindergarten, and then start filling out the details, with things like lesson plans and projects. It's great your son is an eager reader, because that helps a lot! He can read children's history books etc. to supplement whatever you decide to teach him.

    Good luck!
