    Hey all,
I am going to start WW1 probably in a week or so, and I don't want to spend a ton of time on it; maybe it and the depression would get one month. Because the boys especially want to do WW2 and I want a good 3 months for that.
BUT I feel we have to cover the Great War, because it set the stage for the next one.
So, I cannot find many movies about WW1...Gallipoli and one documentary; does anyone have any ideas.
What about books? We are looking at middleschool boys so blood and gore and courage are all fine.
Are there any books on the Red Baron? maybe I will look that one up...
There are so many good books one WW2; I just need one great story for WW1.
    Thanks.

If you go to my website and click on AMERICAN HISTORY, there's some WWI books I used. One called "Archie's War" is very interesting, and is done in a way kids like. I wasn't able to get much in the way of movies, but the movie I wanted and couldn't find was Sargent York. If you just want one good read-aloud, I'd go with "Friend Within the Gates".
