wow, vocabulary and homeschooled kids?

    My dh has to ask me occassionally what I just said because I'll use a "big word" - but dd will know what it means :) (ds usually won't - he's the clone of dh).

    My grandmother did crossword puzzles all the time - and not the easy ones. I try and do them as much as I can get to them (I go through phases) and even I have to use a dictionary to look up words for those. But the reading I have done helps....ok - not the fluff novels with the hot guy on the front...... but with THOSE I DID learn 'sultry' and 'sweltering' ;)

    I knwo what you mean, I have a lot of knowledge on how to do stuff because I read a book about it, or even a fiction novel that the writer was really detailed in researching and I learn about different places and time periods via these.
