Welcome! I am in my second year of homeschooling our four children. I am pretty new here but it is a great place to come.
Well, then, officially: WELCOME!!! (even though you've been around awhile) I have one 15-yo, so I hear ya on that one! I love him dearly, he's a great kid, and I feel blessed to have such a good teenager, really! My 2nd, also a boy, will be 13 in Sept., and is also a great kid--with lots of energy, and is naturally hilarious! My third is a girl 9 and is the sweetest and best girl in the world! My dh is amazingly wonderful too! Yes, I have a great family---I am truly blessed! My dh and I have been married for 18 years, and plan on another 1000 or so! This sounds really sappy, sorry, but I'm very happy with my dh, my kids and we love homeschooling! The good times far outweigh the bad times! We are on our 9th year of hsing. Glad you found this site, and a place for your dd also!
sending a big welcome. My hubby and I have been married for 14 years and have we one son who is 11. We have been hs for 2.5 years and loving it. I also think this is a great place and have meet some great people here and feel very welcome. Thanks everyone.
wow welcome. Hello my name is Kris I have been married to my dh for 22 wonderful years and love him more and more every day. We have to wonderfu dd's who are 13 and 11 and are the best kids in the world. We have been homeschooling for 5 years now.
Kris, I thought you would know that MY dh is the best, and MY kids are the best?!!! You've got some marriage years on me though. It's good that we've been married to our dh's this long and are still in love! Sorry I got sidetracked.......
Welcome to the forums. I'm Vikki and live in CO with my dh of 13.5 years and our 4 dc. We've been hsing since the oldest started pre-k. The girls are in 4th and 3rd this year and we're using Core 3 from Sonlight. The little ones don't want to be left out and are doing some pre-k this year.
Welcome!!! Just out of curiousity, what's the teen site? I'm Jackie. I've got three wonderful kids...DD12, DD10, and DS6. And, for the record, Deena and Kris ar LIARS!!! Because *I* got the BEST HUSBAND!!! (Sorry girls! YOURS must be tied for second best!!!)
I love the best husband debate! Mine has to be in the running though. He has put up we me for 35 years as of 2pm today. And I have to say after 3 great kids by birth, he said yes each time I wanted to adopt the other 4 kids. Total of 7 of the greatest kids on earth and now 3 grandboys! And I love him more now than when we met in high school if that is possible.
Hey Sloan---HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Congratulations! Don't worry Jackie, we still love you, even when you call us names! I love the best husband debate too---I guess we'll all agree to disagree. Or we'll agree that we agree that we each have the best dh in the world for each of us! PTL!
Best husband, and who has the cutest kids! (Obviously, mine are! If you think I'm prejudiced on that, just ask my mom and SHE'll tell you, lol!)
Welcome! I homeschool my 2 kids (ages 5 and 9). I also started out being a certified teacher thinking I would be able to teach my kids just as well as any public school, lol. We are only into our 4th year though. I still learn new things about homeschooling all the time!
HI...glad to finally meet you!! LOL I am Leslie, have 2 kids and have been married 14.5 years. We just started our 2nd yr of hs and love it more and more! My dh and I have served on a marriage enrichment committee at our church for 9 years....I am blessed to have a hubby who puts our marriage first and has just as much passion for marriages as I do. SOOO...I think that puts me in the lead for best husband ever! LOL
Wow! Again! I never imagined that an internet forum could be so encouraging! It's like clapping and cheering for eachother. Jackie, it's Teen Homeschool Hang. ('Not sure if it's capitalized.) The teens have discussed a wide variety of themes, and dd appreciates it. If & when you dd joins there, it might be fun for them to know eachother's names... Those early yrs. of pioneering in homeschooling when we were suspected of being subversives were so lonely! Drove 60 miles to visit with other homeschoolers! No forums like this one! Thanks again, everyone, for being here! For the claps and cheers. For the prayers.
Prairie Home, I'll stop and check it out! Sounds really neat! As you can see, we like to have fun around here. I consider these ladies family. And, like family, we tend to tease a lot, sometimes we say the "wrong" thing and have to apologize, but we are still a real community, supporting one another in a very real way. I've learned so much from them!
Hmmmmmmmm, Little Ms. Jackie I think I got the best looking and well behaved children on earth. Do you want my dd's grandmothers phone she will agree. For DH's mines the best I been married longer then you. LOL Prairie Home do you just type in Teen Homeschool Hang and go from there. I think we might try it too. If Jackie can do we have to do it. LOL Just kidding Jackie is a super and wonderful lady with great ideas. Have to give her a hard time to show her we love her. Just like Deena.
Actually, Jackie CAN'T do it! I looked it up, and it seems a really neat place, but Rachael is only 12, and they are very specific about having to be 13! Gosh, Kris, we better not get those G'ma's fighting of their g'kids, lol! (I'm only been married 14 years, because I was waiting for him to mature. We've known each other since highschool when he was still a heathen, and then dated years later as friends for 7 years before we got married. But when I DID marry him, I was SURE, lol!
