X taking me to court to stop us from hsing

    Looks like there is a ton of great advice. Take things one step at a time, and keep your head clear. I know a few friends who have ex husbands who just do things to rock the boat but never follow through. Don't get involved in any fighting or craziness. Just wait for him to file...in the mean time get your ducks in a row.

    We had the same problem when my ex and I first broke up. We got a court appointed mediator guy. I can't remember what his title was but he went to both our houses and talked to the kids privately. He said we could homeschool and gave me full custody. :lol:

    Edit to say - I did have an attorney and so did he. So yeah, I'd try and get one if you can afford it.

    What i dont get here is that her ex has to be on board with her hs...but she doesn't have to be ok with ps? How does THAT work? both are a legal option...

    I wondered that too, but I guess the issue must be the added amount of parental involvement when homeschooling.

    It's because HS is a 'non-traditional choice.' The same is true of the friend who didn't vaccinate. Non-traditional choices need to be endorsed by both parents, or the traditional is mandated.
