You all know the health that my husband is in.. He's been a mechanic for almost 20 years and a darn good one at that. He's not one that is a "parts changer". He is amazingly talented and I'm not just saying that because I'm biased.. Anyhow, he's gotten to the point where he can no longer do the lifting and bending that is required to do the job. But he KNOWS how to fix just about anything. He started his own business last July and it's been a bit rough on him. Good for us because of the money but he has come to the realization that it's time to find some other line of work. He went to college for computer technology, but where we live there is not much in that field. He has been offered a job where they want him for his "mechanic brain". He won't have to do anything but advise others on how to repair the trucks. It's an oilfield company and they will give him his own vehicle AND HE GETS INSURANCE 100% paid for !!!! The owners are amazing Christian people who know his limitations and are expanding their business and hubby will be their shop manager soon. BUT the kicker is that he will only be getting paid $15 an hour to start out. That is a DRASTIC reduction in what he was getting. He just bought a new truck and with that pay, there's no way he can keep it. He doesn't want me to get a job because he says that I have enough on my plate, but I keep getting offered my old job back. ((sigh)) I really feel that if he passes this up he would regret it. It's a guaranteed paycheck AND he can still work doing his stuff on the side. Seriously, nobody will hire him with his health issues. All they see are his limitations, So this man knows his limitations and is still willing to hire him and send him off to training to be a rep to repair the big trucks that his company has. Again, he won't actually be doing the repairing, but will be overseeing other mechanics. He only wants him for his brains. Please pray with me on what to do about jobs.. I keep thinking it might be a good time to start my cleaning business.. Something I've been kicking around for some time now.. I'm just not very confident in myself.. Please pray, with us, that we choose the path that God is leading us to and that we are completely in his will. Even if it does mean taking a huge pay cut. I keep hearing God tell me "do you trust me?". I know that sounds strange, but I KNOW he has a plan in all of this. And I DO trust him.. This is not a complete change in his line of work, only a little shift in it :) He will still be doing what he loves.

He just left to have a meeting with the owner.. He's going to see if they will give him a little bit more an hour but if they don't he's going to still take it.. The insurance alone is worth it.. I know how to be frugal, I'm just going to have to get my mindset back there again.. I'm sure we will be fine.. Besides, he does a lot of things on the side.. Super talented guy! He works very hard and it's really impressive.. If it were me, I would have already filed for disability and given up like doctors and everyone else tells him to do.. chronic pain is not something I could handle.. But he has an amazing work ethic and will work for as long as he possibly can to support his family. He sees himself as weak and worthless but I see him as strong and amazing.. Love this guy!! I promised to stand beside him in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer and that's what I will do.. :)

Well, no dice on the higher pay, but hubby will start at 7am on Friday.. Guaranteed 40 hours no matter what.. Even if he's laid up in the hospital for back surgery, he's guaranteed him a paycheck. They are also paying off his truck! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!! We thought we would be loosing it, but they told him that they will take care of that and that God is in control and that everything is going to work out. If he needs something to let them know. If you knew my husband you would understand how much people look up to him around here. He's an amazing people person with good morals and values and is well known. I think those qualities mixed in with the fact that he's STILL working reguardless of his health issues has played a big part in this. I do feel that these people are true blue Christians and that they are doing this after much prayer.. I know God has this under control and I know that he is going to take care of us.. This is a prime example of that truth. Reguardless, I'm still guarded after some of the things that's happened by "Christians"..

Awesome news about them paying for the truck and the guaranteed paycheck! Continuing to pray for your family as you make this transition that everything will go smoothly.
