I've ordered our school stuff for next, some books from B&N, and bought some basic supplies (paper, pencils, etc.). I also bought my new stove! I've got about a week before the stove gets delivered. I'm really looking forward to being able to use the oven again. I miss my homemade bread, lasagna, pizza, and other food that needs an oven. I've been doing alright using the roasters, crockpot, and the burners. We were planning to use the grill more, too, but then it was stolen. So, I'm really looking forward to having the oven delivered. We bought a new grill, too. So, we can start using the grill again.
I'm hoping the school stuff & books get here before the oven, though. I need to have the materials here so I can finalize my plans for next year. This school year should end at the end of April. Since our curriculum is pieced together with a variety of materials - supplemental, activity & science kits, various books, materials I create, DVDs, software, online resources, etc - planning takes some time so that I can make it all work together. The sooner I have all the purchased materials, the sooner I can plan and the sooner I know what/how much I need to create for each child. So, I'm really hoping that the school stuff gets here soon.

Yep. This is possibly my favorite time of year. I'm always excited when we get new school stuff or new books. I love planning & organizing the year, choosing activities, hunting for the perfect materials, and of course, getting the materials & finalizing the plans.
Plus, I'm officially a student again! It's only a certificate course through Penn Foster, but I'm just doing it for me & don't feel I need a degree right now. My materials for that should show up in the next week or so, also. So, not only will I get to plan out the kids' school year, but my studies, as well. :D

Oh I love the looking/ordering/waiting/the arrival/the rooting through.. and all of that is even better when the kids root through too and get excited about what is in those boxes of mystery!

So what you are saying is soon we won't see you on here because you will be baking so much that you have to mail goodies out to all of us, and while you are waiting on the oven timer you will be planning next school year all out?

I love it when books I order come in.

Now if I could get a new stove, YAY! That would be great but ours still works so it is sticking around until it finally gives out completely. We already fixed the oven once but I guess it has to be completely gone before we get a new one.

I'm right with ya! I ordered last week and got an email over the weekend stating they have been shippied. Now I am just waiting for the good old UPS man to ring my doorbell so I can spend the better part of a day digging through everything!

Hey if you are baking too much and want to give some away I am sure Sommer and I would love to take some stuff off your hands! Lol! What kind of stove did you get? IS it like new new? I have only gotten second hand, but a couple years back we got an almost new, scratch and dent type that is one with the flat surface on top? I love it!

I am in the planning stages for next year as well. I am up to ears with information and making the right choice. I have decided to just pray about it and let God lead me to what is right for us. I ordered some books from scholastic and yes I can't wait for them to get here. I will not be ordering curriculum until a little later but I can't wait. How exciting for you enjoy! :)

How exciting! My list is made but I'm still waiting for the money fairy to visit so I can place all the orders. Hopefully I'll be blessed soon with a month of no unexpected expenses so I can tear into a box as well.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets excited over the arrival of school stuff. Some people look at me like I'm insane because of how excited I get.

Yes, the stove is new new. We went to Lowe's and I picked it out. Originally, it was going to be delivered yesterday, but we got a call on Saturday telling us that the one in the store was damaged. They have a new one on the way, it should be here this weekend. It's pretty, black, and shiny. It has 5 burners and 5.0 cu ft.
I've already told everyone that, as soon as the new one gets here, I'm making multiple types of lasagna & bread. Apparently, my nieces want to come over to help eat it. Dh is looking forward to my chicken & spinach lasagna & the kids are looking forward to my breads (any kind).
