I'm so excited! I went to the A Beka book show today that they had in my sister's town. It was so fun to actually look through all the books and decide what we need. I ordered almost everything that we'll need for the fall for both my boys. After we left there we went to her library that has a whole basement just for hs'ing stuff!!! You can check whatever you want out for the whole school year. They have everything you can think of from Rod & Staff to Bob Jones, to Horizons to CLP. I am going to go back with no children so I can actually dig deep and find what I'd like. I havent' decided on a science program yet but I want one that we can all do together. Now we can't wait to start watching the mail for our books. I still have to order a Saxon Math 3rd grade for my ds8. I'm keeping him with that since he does really well with it and it's all he has done with the ps since K. My ds6 rocks with the Abeka math so I'll keep him with that.
Wow a library with homeschooling curriculum! I am so jealous! Our Abeka meeting is coming soon and I cant wait to flip through their books.
WOW!! I am jealous too!! That is SOooo cool. And being able to keep it for a whole entire year. AWESOME.
That's really cool! Is that in Indianna? (Oh, please, please, say you were visiting eastern PA at the time!)
Hahaha, yeah it's in Indiana... I can't wait to go back with no children next time so I can really dig through and look. The library is in Warsaw, IN.
Are you SURE it wasn't in Washington State? Does it have a brother over here at least then? Wow, I'd love a place like that, never knew there was such a thing! Wonder how it all works and if one could be started in this area?!
Our library , well the one in the town over from ours, has an extra room with books for sale and most of them are educational, when we first started otu we got a lot of books from them, I would love a total home school used stuff store!
I was away for a while and just got back to check your reply. Warsaw -- no way! I went to the little college (Grace)there at Winona Lake for two years. I was going to say that having a library like that would almost tempt me to move, but I too vividly remember the icy wind that cut my face like razors as I walked to classes in the winter. Anyway, if I ever return for one of their homecomings, I'll check that library out -- take picture and try to convince our library system to duplicate it.
