Hi everyone, If anyone one is wondering (or worrying as I did) if their child will be able to get into college with a homeschool diploma, let me set your mind at ease. The answer is yes!!! My daughter has just been accepted to the local university. We are so excited. She has some LD's, so I was afraid that she would have a hard time getting in. She is a very solid student, but has a processing problem that causes her to read slowly. Anyway, we will have two former homeschoolers in college this fall (both with disabilities.) My son started technical college in January of this year. Now, I just have to figure out what to do next. I will be graduating my last student in June. The homeschooling years have moved much too quickly for me, but I don't regret a moment that I spent with my kids. It has been so precious. Happy Homeschooling, Susan
Fantastic is right! Way to go Mom for doing such a wonderful job teaching. And way to go kids for working hard
Congratulations Susan! I rejoice with you and am inspired as I have been concerned for one of my dk who has learning disabilities also, and will be graduating in a couple of years. I'd love to pm you and pick your brain when I get privileges. We will also, in May, be graduating our first Home schooled ds,and he will be leaving for University in the Fall....so be prepared for some tears on this forum. However, he doesn't have any LD's, other than "independent male" and "question everything" syndrome that can sometimes make learning more tedious. But I do know how exciting it is to meet this milestone....so brag away!
