Oh man! I'm so sorry to hear that!

Did the Docs ever find out what the problem was? Or did they give him something to stop the vomiting?

    Any new symptoms this time?

No diagnosis. No clue what's wrong.

He has been throw-up free for 8 days; he stopped when they put him on Prevacid. But he's back at it again today.

No new symptoms, just more of the old.

I'm assuming he is still on the Prevacid and now throwing up again? If it worked for a time I wonder if there is something similar that might work better for him. Of course, that is still just treating symptoms. :( I'll be praying for the Lord to give you knowledge that only He can give. Also praying for Elijah to stay strong and otherwise healthy and upbeat during this time.

my oh my... that poor young man.. I think if it was me I would be on the horn with the doctor and stay on it till they found something did something. I don't care if they would get mad at me. This has been going on long enough for that young man.

    Maybe change doctors?

I know its hard but somethings you have to be the strong one and be on them alot. I know I had too a couple of times and glad I did

They are doing things, Kris. They have put him through a half dozen tests that all come up normal. Until they find a problem (which is like looking for a needle in a haystack), they can't possibly treat him correctly.

Is anyone else in or around the family sick? It's always possible that the sickness this time is from a different cause.

Is there an elderly family practice, or internal medicine Dr. in the area.

Sometimes they can diagnose things like this when other Dr.s cannot. They have many more years of experience and can therefore be more intuitive in processing the diagnostic data available to them. Ditto Dr.s who worked in a third world country for several years.

That's what my husband is hoping. But there are no signs that anyone else is sick... yet.

Hmmm. I'm sure there is. His GI is not a newbie (the GI's sons are in their residency). But I see your point. I'll look around. Great idea!

I know they have probably already checked all the major stuff, but have they checked his appendix? My nephew had his out at 5 years old. I don't think the symptoms match exactly, but it is just a thought.
