A GRANDMA! It's not the ideal situation, but it's happening none the less and I'm asking for prayers for my son and my soon to be daughter-in-love. I knew she was the one when Ty brought her around. Just wish he would have waited until he got married. He has done the exact opposite of everything we have taught him. It saddens me a bit, but I know that God will finish what he started in this kiddo.
 
Congratulations. God only gives us what he truly believes we need for us. Whether this is to test your patience or your faith. Either way....it's a baby and one of God's children; what a wonderful gift!
 
Congratulations, grandma! We had a similar situation with our son, with the not waiting thing, which was exactly what we'd hoped would not happen, but once it gets here it's not a mistake it's a baby. The very one I'm homeschooling now, who will be 10 next month, the one who lights up my life.
 
I know it is hard when kids do not make the decisions we want them to but there is only so much we as parents can do.

Enjoy the baby and keep on praying for the kids. Marriage at at young age, with a baby can be difficult but not impossible. My sister got pregnant in college and then got married before the baby was born. That was around 35 years ago (boy do I feel old), she is still married, had 5 children and now has 2 grandchildren.
 
You will be a wonderful grandmother. I know you are not thrilled with this situation, but I will be praying your son will remember all you have taught him over the years and apply it to his adult life. Congratulations!
 
Congratulations!!! Babies are ALWAYS a blessing. :)

When I was young I married a man who my mother disapproved of and several months into the marriage we found out that we were pregnant. When we told my parents my mom said something to the effect of "do you really want to do this to your life already?" It broke my heart. A year and a half later we were pregnant again and the reaction was "so soon?" with a disapproving face. Again- heartbroken. That husband was abusive (though my mother didn't know that) and we divorced a year or two later. Several years after that I met the man who is the light of my life- a wonderful husband. We got pregnant on our honeymoon (not the plan but oh well) and her reaction was a very forced "Wow, congratulations. So soon?" Heartbroken again. I have three kids, who my mother loves, but not once was she excited for me to be pregnant. Since those experiences, I have vowed to myself that if any of my daughters (I have no sons) came to me and said they are pregnant that I would be genuinely happy for the new life. Once the baby is growing there isn't much that can be done anyway so why break my daughter's heart over it.

All that to say- be excited with you son and your daughter-in-love- to-be. Go baby shopping with them, help paint the nursery. Do anything that you can to support them.
 
I super duper excited!!! I'm going to be the grandma that my mom and mother in law are not! I'm going to be at every event that kiddo has and I'm going to SPOIL him/her ROTTON!! The baby will be here in November. Seems like such a long time away but it will be here before we know it. Wish I knew what it was so I could start buying stuff. :)
 
My step-son had two absolutely beautiful children before he married their mother. She is a lovely young lady, and I think she's an excellent mother, and is very good for dss. Even though it's not the way you would have liked, a baby is a gift from God. May its parents and you be truly blessed by this little one. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Very well said. God will not give us something that will cause us burdens. We need to take it in a positive way and consider everything as a blessing.
