    Twins ... hehehehe

Twins don't have to run in your family to have them !!! No one in our families had twins, but we did !!!

Anyone can have fraternal twins ( two sacs, non-identical ). All that takes is the fluke of releasing more than one egg in a given cycle, which many of us have done and will do during our possibly 35-40 fertile years. Heredity has little to do with that. Now, identical twins are a different story  in terms of heredity increasing the likelihood you will have them.

In any case, here's to February and to Paula and Randa's bundles of joy ... they'll give us all reasons to smile next Winter !!!

    Kathe (mom of 3 + 2)

PS Crystal, YOU GO GIRL. Holy cow !!! Seven already and trying again. All I'm saying is ... glad it's YOU and not me :D :p ;)

    love being a twin

Twins run in my family. I am a fraternal twin and I have cousins that are fraternal and also identical.

A mother of fraternal twins sometimes carries a gene that causes two eggs to be produced in one month. So you can inherit the tendency to have fraternal twins, usually from a mother who is a fraternal twin.
A daughter of mine could have this gene from me.

We have 4 sets of twins in our family, (non by fertility drugs)

    I have a twin brother.
My aunt had two sets of twins (all girls) one set fraternal and one set identical.
    Also Identical twin boy cousins.

Couldn't see a real trend in our family
I love being a twin. Not only are you close to your twin, but you have an immediate connection with other twins. :) :)

My high school sweetheart also had fraternal twins in his family. One of those twins went on to have TRIPLETS!!! No thanks! I'll take my babies one at a time!!! Oh, BTW, I'm making dinner tomorrow for my friend with the "miracle adoption"...can't wait to see this little guy!

Kathe...lost out on the Power Glide again! So I'm STILL looking!
