Uh, Ava, I've heard of beer-butt chicken down here in the central part of the state. And I KNOW your county is LOTS more red-neck than mine!!!
Well, that is one sin I will have to repent about some other time...I enjoy typing to you ladies too much. lol
Are we red necks here? That's okay, red is my favorite color. Maybe I'm must sheltered. I need to find myself a red neck to make me some beer butt chicken. Hey Jackie...the Egyptian exhibit is coming back to the art museum. The mummies are coming out the last week of October. Fridays the museum is open until 10pm! I wish I knew about this sooner. But feel free to plan field trip! lol
Oh Ava, sweetie, You will just have to come to my house. I live in Ohio so the trip won't be too bad. Dh makes beer butt chicken years round. You're invited any time! He also does Dr. Pepper chicken which is to die for! Marty
You stick a can of beer up the butt of a chicken, and put it on the grill! The beer boils and flavors the chicken. It's REALLY good!!!!!!
Kinda sorta. The beer boils over and more or less marinades the chicken. You don't put in an unopen can...then it would explode. You open the can first! They even make metal stands to put the chicken on which also holds the can firmly in its butt. HA!
Hey, Ava!!! Hear that? The next Ohio Homeschool Spot Field Trip will be at Marty's for some beer-butt chicken!!!
I'm all in for that!!! Nope the exhibit is not all year. We can have beer butt chicken and then stop by and get scared by the mummies. lol
Come on down. I'll supply the beer butt chicken ya'll can bring the rest. Then we can go for a side trip to the caves! Marty ps: You might need to bring a sleeping bag for a sleep over! You'll be too stuffed to go back home right away!
Caves...that sounds fun! I had a bat in my bedroom already this year so I don't want a reenactment of that though. LOL.
I'm not far from Old Man's Cave, Conkle's Hollow, Ash Cave and the Rock House. They are all located in the Hocking Hills region. I'm about 30 to 45 minutes from most of the caves.
You are near Hocking Hills??? My parents went there and loved it. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Hocking Hills!
Well now's your chance! I do live near the Hocking Hills. The trees are starting to turn colors so If you want to do sight seeing now is a good time.
WOW...I am so tempted. If it weren't for being as poor as a church mouse I would drive up there today. I need to save my pennies.
