If we organized it right it could be done pretty cheaply. Oops, I meant inexpensively. The caves are free to hike through, there's no entrance fee. Parking at the caves is also free. We have 40 acres so parking here would be free. We live in the middle of Wayne National Forest. All you would need is a tent, sleeping bag and potluck fare.
Can I just live with you? LOL. I long for a day that I walk out my front door and love what I see. This really would make a great Ohio Homeschool Spot event!
Wow, I miss a day and suddenly everyone's eatin' beer butt chicken! (they sell those stands at all the farm supply stores here ) Unity. That is what this board is all about. Sisters of one mind, one spirit....and one butt!
Is that why my butt is so big...I am sharing it with so many others. In that case...no sharing...I want my small butt back. lol
I left here less than 24 hours ago to go to bed (it was midnight here). This forum went from people feeling frustrated to having fun. I wish there was a church around here with all of you on it. I would be there every week. We could have Sunday brunch together with all of the chicken and feta you could eat. Everyone else would need to bring the snickers and oreos.
Thanks for explaining. Here is another questions Do you pop the tab a little or all the way? How do you keep the beer from pouring(sp?)out of the chicken?
All the way, but it's ok if it pours out of the chicken because it will give it flavor. I think we only use a half can of beer though to prevent that. Not quite positive, but I think it's only half a can, or 3/4's. I know we pour a little out. We sometimes also put a little pan under the chicken to catch the drippings and beer so it can kind of simmer in it.
OH THAT'S RIGHT!!!! We don't want to be wasteful. That wouldn't be too 'green' of us now, would it? So yes, to preserve God's beautiful planet, we should take a few sips first!!!
LOL! Now...remember the principle of sharing...we can pass the can around before sticking the chicken's butt, can't we? My goodness, I have not had a drink in a very long time..one sip and I'd been passed out. lol
Naw! The chicken has a great flavor but even my mother in law and mother eat it and they don't drink at all! I also make a really great sauce for shrimp that has a can of beer. You can't taste any alcohol at ALL and it is delicious! It's kind of like cooking with white wine - gives it flavor but safe for kids to eat. Oh and beer battered shrimp is to die for!
You know one year I ate my husband's grandmother's rum cake at Christmas...WOW..glad I didn't drive. Every year her rum cake gets stronger. LOL. Normally rum cake as a great flavor and her's did years ago...now it's like rum soaked cake...I mean really...the family is warned before eating it. lol
Now Jackie, remember your science. Alcohol burns off in the heat of the BBQ so no one will get tipsy from the chicken. As far as the bit you pour out of the can to make room before inserting the can into the chicken..... well.... that's another story. Marty
You know...I knew that but still that rum cake is will make the room spin. I am not the only one who thinks that. lol
