Well I seen on site where everyone was thinking of naming there schools if you had I thought it would be neat to see of the names ours is Princesses Academy
Comfy Couch Acadamy that's what my husband calls our school because the boys watch the dvd's sitting on the couch in the living room.
Ours is Westfall Academy (named after the street we live on) I think I remember having this discussion last year at atoz.
Ours is Thomas Jefferson Academy. This president is my husband's favorite. We also like his views on independence and self-reliance. Carol
Ours is Hafadai Homeschool. We just liked the name, and it pretty much fits. Our homeschool day is about half of a day compared to those wasted hours in the public school system. Kris-- I know my dd would love to come to princesses academy, though. I know she thinks she would fit right in!! Kim
Drye Acre's Elementary. Our last name is Drye and we lived out at the ranch when we started. The part of the ranch was called Drye Acre's. We will probable change when we get to junior high and then to high school just for fun. I think we need to change to an "Academy". That sounds more prestige and important. Tandy
Our school name is Joshua's Place. Joshua is the only one of my three children that I homeschool. Once someone not knowing we homeschool asked the name of Joshua's school and we told him. He said he thought he had heard of it. He asked if it was a small private school and we said yes. We also volunteered that it had a real low student teacher ratio.
I call mine on some days Holcombe's Hill of Horrors. LOL We call it Holcombe's School of Super Stars. We need a nice name too. Though I don't know why it needs to be named. I have never been ask for it.
...that is too much, roserickert! I shared on another thread that I took our school name from Jackie years ago. Our is Way of Wisdom Christian Academy. (I think Jackie's is --Homeschool). It is taken from Proverbs 4:11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths."...How could anyone not want that name, too? --I keep the big smiles going so Jackie will continue to be gracious in sharing... I use it on all of our forms for discounts and teacher offers, Book It and such. I also made letterheads and for the first time I designed my own planning book--I love how it turned out! My favorite part of a new pet, business...or child for that matter....is getting to pick out a name.
Wel, I'm not going to tell, so THERE!!! (If I had a smiley sticking out a tongue, I'd use it, LOL!) Actually, I'm not going to tell because Brooke already told for me! Though I do like the idea of "Homeschool Academy" better than just plain "Homeschool", so I might add that.
Hey, Crystal!!! How about "CBD Acadamy"? No, that does not stand for "Christian Book Distributors", but for "Cheaper by the Dozen". If you and Rod keep it up, you'll be there in just a few more years.......LOL! Or "Full Quiver Acadamy", using Psalm 127:4-5 as your base: (4) Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. (5) Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
One of my favorite scriptures, Jackie! I actually wrote a poem based on that passage called Petition of a Marksman. Go ahead and tack on "Christian Academy", I don't care...it's not like it's trademarked....hmmmmm...
Are you guys saying you go into a store and use these school names to get discounts and the salespeople never question you? How do you go about getting these discounts? All I have to prove I'm homeschooling is a copy of the form I turned in to the county.
There are some forms that require a school name. I think Book It does, and the Papermate free school supplies does for sure. Other places don't at all.
Kim R tell your dd to come right over we have plenty of room for her to join in with us. might make school more fun to have one more involved.
Well, Kris, we will all just meet at your house today and you can teach all the kids. That would give us all a nice break. LOL
Brooke gave me an idea for a business name (but by then I had already chosen it) so we'll use her idea for a business name as our home school name Education Station I wish I would have been creative enough to think of that when I was coming up with the name - Oh well... that'll teach me to ask for suggestions in the future
