That was fun. I order ten things from the sale, and shipping was surprisingly reasonable. My brother works for Scholastic, and hooks me up with sale items occassionally, but he failed me on this one! Thanks for the heads up!
YAY! I'm glad I could be of some help!! With my age and experience I have to keep all you young ones goin' don't I?
Oh I'm so glad I saw this post! I bought a bunch of stuff from this sale last year and will have to do some shopping again.
I wish they had the ones I tried to order the other day, but they were out when I reaslised I forgot to send! Lol oh well, guess Ididnt need them, I did find some I could get from half price books if I wanted to
Have you received your order? I ordered on the 12th and still have not received a shipping confirmation email. I emailed customer service and they replied that they are verifying school information. In the meantime, my items are not being held and could be sold out. When I ordered last year, all was fine and the items came very timely. Has anyone else run into this?
I was just wondering about this. I haven't had a shipment notice yet either and I ordered on the 9th. I will have to call also. ugh Maybe they got overwhelmed with all of us spot ladies jumping on.
I emailed them on Friday, because it still says pending, and the money was put back in my bank account. I haven't heard anything. I have heard that they are verifying all homeschoolers, and not holding what you ordered... so the things you chose are being sold out from under you while you wait forever for them to get to you. I ordered on the 3rd, I have not recieved the email asking me about my homeschooling... but others who have ordered after me have... makes no sense. But the factor that they are not holding my items and are selling what I chose so long ago really makes me angry with them and when they do contact me back I'm going to tell them to stuff it, I will buy my stuff elsewhere, I'm sure there are better publishers out there... and really nothing I ordered was necessary anyway.. just looked fun.
I was already approved on an earlier $1 sale, so that helped. Also, we never received a shipping email, just an order received email, which did not tell us what would be shipped or how many boxes, etc. I receives two boxes of stuff but no where near my full order, then a few days later (Last Friday) I called them and asked for a shipping number for the third box. They gave it to me, and thebox happened to be out for delivery and I did get it that day. Sadly, I did not get everthing I ordered either, but they only charge you for what they put in the boxes, or supposed to anyway. The next $1 sale they have should go more smoothly for you.
I was told that I would receive a shipping confirmation when it was sent out. Also, if something isn't going to be sent, they should be telling you that on the confirmation. Also, is this sale limited to schools? Or can anyone order...schools, libraries, homeschools, INDIVIDUALS....? So this "verifying" seems a bunch of BS to me! You would think that, as they have done this before, they would have it down to where there wouldn't be any hassles!
I haven't been really thrilled with my experience. I ordered on the 3rd. On the 12th, I started getting emails asking me questions I'd already addressed (including whether or not we were a homeschool)when I registered for the Dec warehouse sale. I finally, in one email, just suggested they call me, and I confirmed all my information over the phone. Sometime AFTER that day, they started packing my order. By then, 1/4 of it was out of stock. I received my order over a week later - nearly 3 weeks after I placed it. One of the items I received was actually two, stuck together. It was supposed to include a CD, and neither book had the CD. Fortunately, all this stuff was just supplemental, but I think next time I'll only order one or two things and see if the process goes more smoothly.
I was able to buy using a purchase order on my order. Made my order on the 12th and received it on the 21st. Just received my invoice from the purchase order on Saturday. And shipping was only .18
All my orders have arrived. I did not get some of the items I wanted. Are "they" wanting to know too much about homeschoolers? I gave my information away... Is this a yearly sale?
I had to give lots of info too. When they asked my school name I gave it but I told them that it wasn't required by my state. And I also told them that I had a card from HSLDA stating that I homeschool my kids. And I told them exactly what HSLDA stands for. I think that made a differance. I received all of my order with the exception of 2 things that were out of stock. And they notified me of those two things within minutes of me ordering them.
I didnt have any of these troubles! They did email me to verify my information but I sent one back and my order arrived only a few days later. I ordered a second time and my order arrived in less than a week. I did have some items that sold out in the mean time. I was dissapointed but figured that was just the nature of such a great sale. Next time I will try to hit it on the first day of the sale. I am sorry you had such a poor experience!
I still have not heard from them. This is the worst customer service I have ever recieved and I will not ever go back there to buy anything. They don't deserve the $50 order I gave them or any penny out of my bank account in my opinion.
They called me a couple of weeks ago and asked what grade I was homeschooling. I told them pre-k and she told me that doesn't count as homeschooling and they canceled my order. The main reason that made me a bit annoyed was that i had already submitted my info and had been approved. And the books I ordered were for pre-k...but I guess homeschooled kids don't count. Oh well, I'll try again next year (maybe) and we'll see if it goes better.
