This video is cute and a young girl sets the record straight about homeschooled and homeschoolers. LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQoSRfu5z_4
okay I was looking at that link it only showed a teen ageer girl with too much makeup on... is that the little girl you were talking about? ALso her statistics didnt work right, lol, I could not understand what she was saying the difference was... and how is there a difference? lol
Hmmm...we don't wear camo and culottes, but I did wear a mad scientist costume when I hosted a mad science homeschooling event at my house. I think I'm teetering on the line at best. LOL I liked it...lots to laugh at there.
uh... well my kids boys do wear camo, and did did too tillwe told her they are too small lol, and I never knew it was a homeschool thing , hey are there any other stereotypes I dont knwo about? I did enjoy her commentary, just the graph was confusing to me and it led me to more funnier ones I needed a good laugh.
Sorry for asking since I'm new on the forums...but was this a joke or are you serious? I think she forgot to mention the monotone voice. I also think the ratio of 'homeschoolers' to 'home schooled' is more like 60/40 not 20/80.
I think it would depend on where you live. I love in a very large city, with a very large hs'ing community. There are three families on my street alone (maybe 15-16 houses). There are many, many things available here, so getting out and about would be easier than for a family in a small town with limited resources. On my street one would be called homeschoolers and 2 would be homeschooled (based on this girl's view). But I don't think this girl was going for correct statisitcs as much as she was trying to prove the point that home-educated people can be "normal". I do think the section with the "Homeschooler" and the "homeschooled" girls answering questions leaned too much towards making fun for my taste.
PUBLIC NOTICE: This video is a joke, feel free to laugh. There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the video. It's supposed to be funny!
I said young girl, not little girl. There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the video, it's a joke, it's okay to laugh. I thought it was funny! Takes a lot of guts to make a video and put it on YouTube.
I personally loved it. And I do like the point she makes that people won't necessarily know what homeschooled people are like since they very often look pretty much like everyone else.
We did, we laughted a lot, ds older one and I both enjoyed it. I just thought she had too much makeup but I guess it was for dramatic effect eh> it was cute the way she went back andforth from her self to herself
Funny how opinions can be so different; I thought just the opposite. My first thought was, 'She's all dressed up and looks professional and her makeup even looks good.' Although I am a guy so I would think we see something like makeup differently
I thought it was a bit much, but video recorders tend to make a person looked "washed out", so she might have added more than normal to compensate.
