Hello, To make nice fall apart pork chops: Place chops in the crock and add either a package of onion soup mix, or brown gravy. Cook overnight on low. Depending on your cooker, you may need to add just a touch of water.
That's exactly what we're having tonight!!! I set my chops out last night to thaw; thanks for reminding me to put them in, lol!
I have a crock pot chicken recipe you might be interested in. It's nothing over the top, just my attempt at cooking some of you might enjoy. I'm still kind of new at this whole crockpot thing, so I will enjoy trying some of the recipes that were mentioned here.
Google Crockin' Girls. Their site is amazing, organized, and has TONS of crockpot recipes. I love their site!
Cool site!!! Jewinjuwa, you haven't been here long enough to post links, but I have!!! So here it is: http://crockingirls.com/
Yeah, I knew I couldn't post links so I didn't try. I found them on Facebook because a friend "Liked" them so I went to look and fell in love. I love how organized it is and it's easy to browse. I've tried several of those recipes and had great success.
OH, GOSH!!! It has a cinnamon French toast recipe!!! I think we're going to have to try that one!!! Maybe put it on Saturday before going to bed, and it will be ready before church.... I think I'm gonna REALLY like that site!!!
Thanks! I have their version of chicken and dumplings in the crock pot right now. I'll let you know how it goes. The site looks great!
Apple sauce is SO easy!!! Put apple chunks in, any sugar/spice you want to add, and cook it on low all night. In the morning, it will still look chunky. Stir it up (I use a whisk), and they break right up. That's it! And you can fill the crock pot up with applesauce, add additional spices, and turn it on all night on low (again!) with the lid off, and you'll have apple butter!
Just to update the chicken and dumplings were a huge hit!! Next time I will flatten the canned biscuits a little then tear them a part. They were a little thick but no one complained. I tore mine into quarters for those like me who want detailed instructions. YUMMY! I did carrots and and brussel sprouts as a side and felt like I did a good healthy meal then added banana nut bread for dessert only because I had a couple of bananas that I was going to loose if we didn't use them.
Not a slow cooker, but I just deboned two chickens that I cooked tonight in my electric roaster. My mil gave it to me, and at the time I wondered if I'd ever really use it. I LOVE IT!!! I can cook three roasts or three chickens in it. Tonight I was getting it ready for two chicken pot pies tomorrow. One is for a friend with health/financials problems right now, and the other for us. I was hoping to do three (a third for the freezer), but don't think there's enough.
BBQ pork chops in the crock pot tonight! I've been using mine much more since we strated this thread. Makes life so much easier!!
IT'S GONE!!! We searched the site, and couldn't find it. So Rachael went back over history, and found the link. When we clicked on it, it came up that the recipe has been removed. So I sent them a message asking about it. I'll let you know if I hear from them!
