I like cold weather at Christmas and that is it. And its great if I am vacationing in Colorado or something. I want springtime weather!!!!!
me to Tiffany that is why I thought I move to Texas told my MIL today who is from MN i might as well be back home.
Yep - hey, new here and in Austin - this weather is yucky! It's all iced over here and no cars on the road; the news is on the local channel with no programming today so it's fun. LOL Glad we don't have to get out in this! Say a prayer for my dh - he had to go yesterday to work two more nights at his "old" store in Waco and will be driving back tomorrow. Pray for his safety while there and his safe drive home! This isn't supposed to stop until tomorrow afternoon!
It was 29 degrees last night here near Dallas (if not colder!) My dh stayed home from work yesterday because the news reported over 300 traffic accidents over a 24 hour period in the DFW area! So glad he didn't get out in it. And VERY thankful my dd8 and I don't have to leave the house either thanks to home-schooling and working from home and (starting back today!) Grad school online from home. WooohooooO!!!! There really IS "No place like HOME"!!
Yea, doesn't look like it's going to get much better here. It's 32 right now and they say almost everyone got ice. We didn't get any ice down here thank God. But, we are wet and cold very cold. But other parts of Texas is really bad. Like Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and lot of towns in between got hit big time.
We hit 66 yesterday, not supposed to be out of the 40's today and sleet and freezing rain are forecast for tonight with highs in the 30's tomorrow. Now is when I would rather have snow! It's windy here too.
We're having freezing rain again. Blech. School was cancelled for the little bunny, which is fine with me! I take her to school and then pick her up again and I don't want to drive in this yuckiness. It is supposed to be warmer (low 40's) tomorrow, so this is all just going to turn into rain rain rain and more rain. There's a flood warning already for the parts of Houston that ALWAYS flood. It's supposed to rain all weekend and into next week. We'll be there on Friday, timkelmom!
NancyG Hi everyone in different weather-lands; up here in Cleveland Ohio we have 24 deg. with flurries. We FINALLY got snow - for the FIRST time this year! yesterday, and I think the first time such cold weather. I personally like it. Real cold kills germs and insects and gets things fresh for Spring. But I am sorry about Texas and Calif. - it doesn't make sense. The world is turning as some of my friends have said. They say soon we will have desired "lake front property". We are on Lake Erie, which is very nice to look at-even frozen in winter. But our weather is crazy too. We have had spring/fall temp which some people like, but its not typical. I am new here, so I want to say I am glad I found a site that has friendship to offer to home school families. We haven't had contact with anyone until very recently.
Welcome to Homeschool Spot, Nancy! I lived in Ohio (near Findlay and then in and around Columbus) from 1982 until 1998. It's a very nice state, but I'm glad to be here in (usually!!) warm southeast Texas! There are several ladies in here from Ohio, so you have lots of new neighbors.
Its so good to hear news from so many moms, from so many places. We have everything in common no matter where we live. But boy, I sure envy the mom in Florida right now!
Nancy, I'm just south of you in Canton. The kids were excited yesterday. About 5:00pm we had a white out and the kids jump up from supper and headed outside until piano lessons. They didn't want to come in My mil and fil just left this am for sunny Florida (they have a travel trailer). They will be going to WDW next week. They are expected back in Ohio middle of March - I would of loved to follow them, but dh still has another year until he retires, and again, he won't stay in the camper It is really cold today - 21 degrees, but the SUN IS SHINNING, Yeh!!! I'm not going any where until church tonight. Texas - just wait - when we are still having snow in Ohio, you will be having those 80 degree days
About the faucets, and leaving one dripping. We can't do that, since we have septic---that's hard on septic! So we do the hot water thing. It's worked so far! But we used to do the dripping water thing.
