ediesbeads - Best of luck, wish and prayers from us.

My mom is a very stand-off-ish mom. Her mom was the same and had been raised by 'maiden aunts' who were stand-off-ish. IMO it depends on the mom and not her age. I've seen moms in their teens and 20's who don't play or have fun with their kids (who treat them like celebrities treat chihuahua dogs, like a fashion accessory) and I've seen moms in their 30's and 40's who have a very fun and playful relationship with their kids. Plus older moms are much more common now.

I'm in my 20's and trying to learn how to be the kind of mom I want to be - fun and playful and arty crafty.

My mother turned 41 right afte I was born. My brother is 20 years older than me and my sister is 6 years older than I am. My mom told me I was her easiest pregnancy, labor and delivery.

She was only in labor with me for 2 hours. My parents often said that I kept them young.

I am 40 and my youngest is 3. We have talked about a fourth child. While we won't actively try, we would be happy if I did get pregnant.

I had my first child at age 34 and my second child at age 40. My husband and I are currently trying for another child.

I think for myself having kids later in life was a blessing. I am more patient now than I was in my 20s and 30s. I think I would have loved being a young mom but the Lord had other plans for me. I enjoy being a mom and would treasure another child if God blessed us with one.
