That would probably be right. I remember my mom watching it and I would every so often join her just to see ole Johnny. He was one of my childhood crushes, along with Patrick Swayze. I never understood the adult content at that time though and I don't remember too much about it either, just Johnny Depp.
I didn't find Johnny Depp attractive until Pirates of the Caribean came out....all I used to invision was Edward Scissorhands...which I never saw anything but the previews. I only watched Pirates cuz my son--the biggest Legolas fan alive--wanted to see it cuz Orlando Bloom is in it....and I was pleasantly surprised...we all really liked it!...but Jackie, I'm embarrassed...why am I feeling guilty? was there much trash in it? I don't remember.
