My sewing machine died!!! The tension popped off the other day. It did that last year; I took it in to this repair place and they popped it right back in for free. I planned on taking it in to get it tuned up in January, but never did. so the other day, it popped off again. I took it in, and told him to fix it and tune it up. He called yesterday to tell me the gears were stripped, and he's looking for a part. Trouble is, this machine is OLD!!! I got it in HIGH SCHOOL!!! So he's not sure he can get the part. I've got Carl's flannel lap quilt I'm working on, another full-sized quilt top, and curtains for my kitchen. And that doesn't include Christmas crafts!!! So I'm waiting for him to call back before I decide what to do.
I went to library drop off ( budget cuts are killing our library hours) and stoped for desert and came home to dd sewing on mine ! She is making a cuddle toy to match the one the Bunny in our Christmas play is playing.. did that make sence? AAAAAAAA! Im so worn out, but dd is doing crafts and I am too for selling at our Church Chrismas boutique ( its a bazzar) and bakesale. We are crafter peoples at heart... so we are doing that kind of crafting so far, I make stockings and such she does knitt Wuzzies (TM) and ornaments
WOW! So many really awesome ideas! I am going to have to use a few of them for family and friends! As for me, I am making snuggies for each of my kids, and heavy baby waldorf dolls for my girls and my boys are getting rice bags.
I enjoyed reading through all of these again today. I forgot all about the candles with pictures. We made some of those a year or two ago and everyone loved them at church.
I made lipbalms with 1/4 cup almond oil and 1/2 oz beeswax. Super easy! I added flavorings also, but that is optional.
