I really enjoy my morning, and sometimes afternoon, coffee. I have never been particular when it comes to brand but I think I may be changing my mind. Some really don't taste as good as others. I usually buy what's on sale. So I was wondering if you all have a brand that you can't live without or do you just buy what's cheap? I would like to try a few brands before I decided and am looking for recommendations.
I'm not really a coffee drinker these days. Instead, I drink herbal teas. In fact, my wife bought a new flavor recently which is really rather good: acai-mango.
Somewhat related, I think this is the most amazing advertizing campaign ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ky7g1lgTwc
Folgers instant here. Sometimes I like to drink Folgers Breakfast Blend (ground-coffee maker kind), Dunkin Donuts and Flavored coffees. About twice a year I splurge on a caramel macchiato at Starbucks or a Hazelnut or caramel cappuccino from a local coffee house.
Gevalia and Starbucks are great. I will buy Krogers when desparate..lol..but it really isn't half bad. Folgers is also good. I try to stick to 1/2 the caff when possible.
I usually buy the store brand, but I'm cheap. I did buy a big tub of Folgers last, because it was on sale. Honestly, I can't tell the difference, but I put flavored creamers in mine.
I put flavored creamers in mine also...that does level the playing field. So, if you like flavored creamers...then just buy what's on sale.
We love Gevalia here. If we run out before our next shipment arrives then we will drink Starbucks brand. My MIL sends us Kona about 4 times a year, delicious, but extremely pricey! We only drink it when she sends it to us. I could never bring myself to spend $30+ on a lb of coffee. LR
Starbucks French Roast, I stock up when it's on sale. Or when I get to the local health food store I pick up Cafe Altura French Roast. Jim's coffee on vitacost is pretyy good tasting, also. When I place an order with vitacost I sometimes get this coffee. http://www.vitacost.com/Jims-Organic-Coffee-Whole-Bean-Coffee-French-Roast
Whatever is on sale usually Maxwell House. However I find that I do have to adjust the quantity when I change brands.
I've traveled the world many times over (I'm almost a 4-million miler on Delta, for example) and therefore tasted a variety of different types of international coffee. Although taste preferences are a personal thing, I find coffee in Brazil to be the best, followed by Colombia. Compare this with Middle Eastern coffee which you could honestly refer to as sludge! There's a big difference in the taste of orange juice too. One of the highlights of being in Mexico City, for example, is enjoying local orange juice. We've recently found one brand in our local supermarket that tastes very similar and have now switched to that one.
I like Maxwellhouse coffee , I loved Hillsbros but they are more expensive and Wallys makes great cheap maswell house so I tried that. Turns out if I get the original blend it is almost same flavor as Hills brothers! I like mild coffee flavors, they have to mix well with MILK not the fake stuff. my xilotol or how ever you spell it or a bit ofsugar and a nnice creamy look to it. But I grew up drinking from my daddy's cup so I ot used to his HB coffee. So now I enjoy the smell and the sip of coffee first thing , it reminds me of my dad.
folgers is too acidy for me, I should mention. I also do love Green tea with either the mango or rasberry blends, its great with other flavors tooo but these two are great
We LOVE and buy Tim Horton's coffee. We can buy it either at the store, or at the restaurant. It's rather expensive, but it's our one splurge when it comes to groceries.
