now that the baby is here maybe i can drink coffee again, my favorite is 8 o'clock coffee but if i can't get that i'll usually just buy whatever dark roast is cheapest. I like my coffee with a bit of sugar and cream (non flavored)
Wow! You all know your coffee. I think I'll try a couple brands suggested. I'm not a huge fan of flavored creamers. I like just a bit of sugar and half and half. Thanks!
I'm not crazy about flavored creamers, either. We are a bit of coffee snobs here; we grind our own beans and use a French press to brew it. That said, Aldi has the most amazing whole-bean coffees available now. They're like $3.99 for the same size bag as Starbucks beans, and every bit as good. The best coffee I've ever had, hands down, is roasted by a friend of mine. He runs a small roasting company in a building behind his home, more of a hobby than a real money-maker. He has an Indian Monsooned Malabar that is simply amazing. He doesn't know I'm plugging him, but his site is www.wideeyedcoffee.com if you're interested. If you order tell him that Kari & Donnie sent you. I don't get a kickback or anything for referrals...it's just seriously good coffee! (I haven't seen him in a year or more; he'd get a kick out of hearing that we still tell people about his coffee!) P.S. So it doesn't fit the image of a coffee snob, but one of my favorite summer drinks is an iced latte made with Taster's Choice instant decaf dissolved in a little water, sweetened with stevia, mixed with a cup of milk, poured over ice. MMM!
I do not consider your choice as coffee snobbery. Rather I consider it a preference and a good one at that! LOL I love grinding my own beans! Handsome on the other hand likes Folgers. I do too but prefer to grind my beans because the taste is richer and fresh. We have two coffee pots for this reason. Mine is a lot smaller than his because he likes to take a pot of coffee in his thermos. If he leaves any coffee in the pot, I admit that I drink it with no complaints. LOL  With that said, I will take my coffee percolated anyday over coffee from an automatic dripper. Unfortunately, I no longer own a percolator and I never seem to get around to buying one.:?
