We've always vaccinated our kids. The only thing I procrastinated on was the chickenpox vaccine. I won't get the gardisil vaccine for my daughter, though.
Yes, I was going to say that very same thing. I've known several people now that have gotten shingles, and they've all had the chickenpox shot.
If my daughter went back to public school this fall, they wanted her to get ANOTHER dpt shot. She isn't supposed to get another one until she is 15 years old but now they want the kids to get an additional shot. I'm kind of deciding not to vaccinate anymore anyway. The only one that I think they need to keep up on is tetanus.
I am very surprised by this poll! After the article someone had commenting that hs'ers don't vaccinate their children (or something to that effect) I figured their would be more that do not.
My son's had all of his vaccines, because he was enrolled in public school from 1st-4th grade. I did try to refuse the chicken pox vaccine, but the clinic would not let me. I wish I hadn't been so young and naive and had walked out and gone to another doctor. I'd so much rather him get chicken pox as a kid, then shingles as an adult. God Willing, he won't have to experience either of them.
